We recently put up a Kickstarter to gauge public interest and actually fund the printing process. Here's the link to our Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1… Please support us!
I can personally vouch for the ease of playability and the endless open-ended and free-spirited format of the game, as I have spent the last 6 months of my life helping to play test it. It really is a fun and revolutionary new tabletop RPG system that is worth a look.
Okay, so maybe you're not 100% sold yet. Well here's a bit of back story for all of you lore-lovers out there:
In the year 2000, the Threads of Fate slipped, and the course our world would take would be thrown wildly off-course. A series of supernatural events and rapidly sequential assassinations began taking place, resulting in thousands of ghost, angel, and demon sightings and the unlikely election of the first ever female president of the United States of America in 2004 – Alice Murray. During her initial period of leadership, the entire world was already falling into chaos. Every country was pooling their resources to funnel the funding towards their militaries and national security, and war was heavy on the minds of all.
Then one fateful day in 2006, an amateur astronomer by the name of Jamie Thatcher who worked at Stony Ridge Observatory in Los Angeles spotted an enormous meteor approximately the size of Connecticut heading straight for Earth. Thatcher named it Nyx. Despite its size and trajectory, it was travelling on such a path that it could only be seen from a precise angle from a precise location – and that location was where Jamie Thatcher's equipment was. Rather than reporting his findings immediately, however, he waited until July 2nd to announce to the world that everyone was doomed. The people panicked, and utter chaos finally descended on the global community. For three long, terrible days, crime ran rampant in the streets and utter societal collapse enveloped the world.
Then the morning of July 5, 2006, at 7:06am Eastern Time to be precise, Nyx impacted 100 miles south of the Bermuda Triangle, but something unusual occurred. There was no true "impact." There was no crash, no tremors, no terrible tidal waves, no...anything. There were only a few large ripples where it touched the sea...and then it happened. The meteor began to rapidly dissolve into a strange red Mist that seeped across the world, sending almost everyone who came in contact with it into a deep and unnatural slumber. Only the core of the meteor remained, and it sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and only 10% of the population was not whisked away to dreamland by The Mist.
Those who slept began to rapidly change, both internally and externally, in a multitude of different ways. The sleepers dreamed as they became what would come to be known as the Altered, the Mages, the Psions, and the Technos. Those who remained awake were not unchanged by The Mist, however. Some became more hardy and resilient, their hearts hardened and minds closed to the shifting realities – these were the Unaffected. Most of them spent their time during The Sleep securing wealth and power, while others wasted their days picking off the "monsters" that the sleepers were becoming. The Unaffected were not the only kind who remained awake, though. The others were the Dreamers, who were gifted with invisible and subtle magic powers. They roamed the streets picking up after the mess The Mist caused and trying to help heal the scar that would never truly fade.
But now that everyone who survived the fall of Nyx has awakened, they have all found themselves thrust into a new and dangerous reality where Magic and Psionics have suddenly become a prevalent part in their everyday lives. This world is their new reality...Reality A.
